I ordered a gyro with French fries and the food portions were quite generous. Loved the gyro and the seasoning on the fries. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food as well. Prices were average also. Overall a solid location that serves a variety of food.
The service was fast and efficient. Beverages were never empty. This while busy at lunch on a Friday. The meat lovers skillet aka “The Nic” was amazing. Love it when I find hidden gems like this.
Nice old style decorations and atmosphere. The service was a little strange because when the server came to take our order he stood there without saying anything initially. Once they started talking though they were really friendly. The cashier was also friendly.
Every small town has that one place the locals recommend. In Menomonie, this is it. Their homemade soups are fabulous, and there's no better place around for breakfast. They have a full menu of hearty fare, with GREAT service, reasonable prices, daily specials, and a terrific pie selection. Love the counter service experience, sitting on a vintage-style stool? You'll find it here - and the friendly, hometown atmosphere can't be beat.
Went there for a nice family dinner and was horribly disappointed. The first time our waiter came to get our order, we weren't ready. The 2nd time he never said anything just stood there with his hip popped. He also smelled bad, which made us 2nd guess the cleanliness standards. Our drinks were never refilled, not even our waters. Our potatoes were cold, country fried steak was so bad it was hardly edible, and our daughters bun was super hard. He also never even asked if we wanted anything else, only checked on us once, and then just dropped our check to the table without even saying anything. The only good thing about our experience was getting a free slice of pie when talking to management when paying. Probably will never go back.
Not a chain, which is a big plus in my book. Family owned, very friendly atmosphere, excellent food. One of my favorite places in Menomonie for breakfast, but they have an extensive menu for lunches and entrees as well.
